The first time an all-electric vehicle - Tesla Model Y - has become the world's bestselling car.
The emergence of competing car manufacturers of electric vehicles continues to be insufficient, allowing Tesla to continue to dominate the EV market. Over the last few years, Tesla has often reduced the cost of most of its cars, including the Model Y. While Tesla is currently the world's bestselling vehicle, it isn t the biggest automaker globally. Volkswagen VOW, Toyota 7203, General Motors GM, and Ford F all report higher revenue and unit sales by comparison. Tesla is not even among the top 10 world car manufacturers, with it sneaking in 19th place for 2022, according to Car Logos. The Model Y took third place on the global list for 2022, after competing against trucks and full-size SUVs. Last year, it became the bestselling car in both Europe and California and the fourth bestselling car in China after jumping 15 places from the previous year.
