The International Monetary Fund on Thursday said that it expects China to achieve its growth target of about 5 percent in 2023.

IMF spokeswoman Julie Kozack said at a press briefing in response to a question from Xinhua.

Details of the World Economic Outlook, set for release from Sept. 9 through Oct 15, will be presented in the World Economic Outlook, set for release by the 2023 World Bank-IMF annual meetings in Marrakech, Morocco.

The World Bank Group and the IMF, together with the Moroccan government, announced earlier this month that they had agreed to hold the 2023 annual meetings in Morocco despite thoroughly assessing Marrakech's capacity to host the meetings following a devastating earthquake in the North African country.

The IMF Executive Board approved Thursday an 18-month loan for Morocco, equivalent to $1.32 billion, to help Morocco address climate weaknesses, strengthen preparedness for natural disasters and stimulate financing for sustainable development.
