The Institute of Risk Management (IRM) has recently announced the appointment of Dorothy Maseke as joint deputy chair of its global board. With a wealth of experience and leadership skills, Ms. Maseke is expected to play a key role in advancing excellence in risk management education on a worldwide scale. Alongside Ms. Maseke, Mariam Crichton and Esther Chesterman have been appointed as independent directors, each bringing 17 and 25 years of experience, respectively, to their roles.

In her new capacity, Ms. Chesterman will not only serve as an independent director but will also chair the awarding committee responsible for ensuring compliance with the general conditions of recognition as outlined by Ofqual. Moreover, she will be pivotal in driving the development of new and regulated qualifications within the IRM. The appointment of these new board members aims to enhance the IRM's credibility, governance standards, and regulatory compliance, while also paving the way for strategic growth and internationalization initiatives.

Stephen Sidebottom, the chair of the IRM, expressed delight in welcoming Dorothy Maseke, Mariam Crichton, and Esther Chesterman to the board, emphasizing their collective expertise and diverse perspectives. Ms. Maseke's past contributions to the IRM as a director and chair of the investment committee, as well as her involvement in founding the IRM East Africa Regional Group, underscore her significant impact within the organization. Additionally, her current endeavors in advocating for nature finance and sustainable development further enrich her professional profile and align with the IRM's strategic objectives.
