Opposition Bloc to Protest Kejriwal's Arrest, AAP Plans Mega Rally Amid Tight Security

In anticipation of protests organized by the opposition INDIA bloc against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, multiple layers of barricades have been erected and a substantial number of police officers have been deployed on roads leading to the BJP headquarters.

Paramilitary forces have also been stationed at strategic locations in Central Delhi, including DDU Marg and the ITO area. Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in connection with the Delhi excise policy-linked money laundering case has sparked widespread protests.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced that its members will demonstrate at the BJP headquarters on DDU Marg to protest Kejriwal's arrest and the electoral bonds issue. The INDIA bloc, a coalition of opposition parties including AAP, TMC, Congress, DMK, and SP, has been formed to challenge the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

To maintain order, the Delhi Police has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in the DDU Marg area, prohibiting large gatherings. Police officers have stated that barricades will be used to prevent protesters from approaching DDU Marg.

The AAP has been organizing protests since Kejriwal's arrest, and the road leading to the BJP headquarters from ITO and Minto Road remains open but may be closed if necessary. The INDIA bloc has also scheduled a large rally at Ramleela Maidan on March 31.
