## UK Delegation Visits CBI Headquarters in New Delhi

A high-level delegation from the United Kingdom visited the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Headquarters in New Delhi on April 15th. The visit aimed to strengthen international cooperation between the UK and India in combating transnational crime.

The delegation included Stephen Kavanagh, Executive Director of Police Services at INTERPOL and the UK's candidate for Secretary General of INTERPOL. He was accompanied by Christina Scott, Acting High Commissioner of the UK to India, Robert Holness from the UK National Crime Agency, and Sorrel Evans from the UK Home Office.

During the visit, both the CBI and the delegation expressed their commitment to addressing global crime threats in a coordinated and effective manner, particularly through INTERPOL channels. They discussed enhancing operational collaboration in various areas of law enforcement, including criminal intelligence sharing and efforts to combat financial crimes, organized crime, terrorism, cybercrime, and other transnational threats.

The visit emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and working closely together to address common security challenges. Both sides agreed on the need to expedite mutual legal assistance and prioritize extradition requests relating to fugitives.

Stephen Kavanagh thanked the CBI for their valued partnership and cooperative spirit, reiterating his commitment to enhancing collaboration. Praveen Sood, Director of the CBI, welcomed the delegation and expressed his gratitude for their visit.

Both sides expressed their eagerness for future interactions and collaborative initiatives to deepen cooperation between the UK and India in combating transnational crime.
