Wana Brands CEO Nancy Whiteman Steps Down, Joe Hodas Takes Over

## Nancy Whiteman Steps Down as CEO of Wana Brands

Nancy Whiteman, the co-founder and CEO of Wana Brands, will be stepping down from her day-to-day duties at the end of May 2024. This marks a significant transition for the company, which has grown from Whiteman's kitchen in Boulder, Colorado to a dominant force in the North American cannabis edibles market.

Whiteman's next chapter will involve a combination of philanthropic efforts and her role on the Board of Managers for Canopy USA, owner of Wana Brands. "While it is never easy for a founder to step away from the company they started, I've got full confidence that Joe and our Wana leadership team are well-positioned to continue Wana's growth," Whiteman said.

Joe Hodas, CMO of Wana Brands, will take over as CEO. Hodas has been with Wana Brands for four years and has twelve years of experience in the cannabis industry. He has played a key role in the company's strategic decisions and is committed to guiding Wana with the same integrity, innovation, and passion that Whiteman has instilled in the team.

Under Hodas's leadership, Wana Brands is expected to continue its upward trajectory, expanding its market footprint across the East Coast and exploring international markets such as Switzerland.

Whiteman will continue to play a significant role in the Wana Brands Foundation (WBF), which she founded with a personal grant of $50 million in 2022. "I am looking forward to being able to devote more time to the Wana Brands Foundation," Whiteman remarked. "While we have already made almost $5 million in donations to over 150 organizations, I'm excited to learn more about the issues that the Foundation supports so we can increase our impact and be more effective in making the world a better place."

WBF has made significant contributions to the community through their #4ward20 campaign, which has donated to more than 150 charities since 2021. This initiative focuses on sustainability and social responsibility, prioritizing meaningful societal impact over commercial gains. Wana's commitment to sustainable practices and community well-being is evident through their active engagement with charitable causes.
