## Stocks to Watch on Friday, April 19, 2024

Indian benchmark equity indices are expected to extend their losing streak on Friday, April 19, 2024, due to a combination of factors. The weekend factor, coupled with the tense geopolitical situation, may keep buyers at bay. Additionally, the first phase of general elections 2024 will begin today, adding to the uncertainty.

Overnight, the US market ended on a flat note. However, Dow, Nasdaq & the S&P 500 futures were seen trading with losses in excess of 1 per cent post the explosion news in Iran and Syria. In Asia, Japan's Nikkei plunged 2.8 per cent, while Kospi and Taiwan were down around 2 per cent each. Hang Seng slipped nearly 1 per cent.

Gold futures climbed back atop the $2,400-mark, while Brent Crude Oil futures were seen quoting around $89.30 per barrel.

At 08:00 am, Gift Nifty futures quoted around 21,730 levels, hinting at a likely gap-down of over 300 points on the Nifty 50.
