## BJP Confident of Victory, Accuses Opposition of Threatening Constitution in Press Conference

## BJP Leader Ravi Shankar Prasad Addresses Press Conference

On Friday, April 20th, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravi Shankar Prasad addressed a press conference in Patna, Bihar. During the conference, he spoke about the ongoing Lok Sabha elections and the BJP's prospects for victory.

Prasad expressed confidence that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would secure over 400 seats in the elections. He cited the first phase of voting, which took place on Friday across 102 parliamentary constituencies, as an indication of the NDA's strong performance.

Prasad also criticized the opposition for their "frustration at defeat" and their claims that the Constitution would be changed under the NDA government. He asserted that the BJP had no intention of altering the Constitution and that it was actually the Congress party that had attempted to change it during their rule.

Prasad further accused the Congress and their allies of posing a threat to the Constitution. He pointed to the Congress's imposition of emergency rule in the past and their efforts to amend the Constitution during that time. He contrasted this with the BJP's commitment to upholding the Constitution.

Bihar, with its 40 Lok Sabha seats spread across all seven phases of the election, will play a crucial role in determining the outcome. The first phase of voting in Bihar took place on Friday for four seats. The remaining seats will go to polls in the subsequent phases.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA won a resounding victory in Bihar, securing 39 out of 40 seats. The BJP emerged as the largest party within the alliance, winning 17 seats. The JD(U) and LJP won 16 and 6 seats respectively. The Mahagathbandhan, led by the RJD, INC, and RLSP, managed to win only one seat.
