Tesla Cuts Prices in China, Following US Reductions and Delivery Decline

## Tesla Cuts Prices in China, Following US Reductions

Tesla has slashed prices in China by nearly $2,000 across its entire lineup, mirroring recent price cuts in the United States. This move comes as the company faces declining sales and a fierce price war in the electric vehicle (EV) market.

The starting price of the revamped Model 3 in China has been reduced by 14,000 yuan ($1,930) to 231,900 yuan ($32,000). Similar cuts were made to the Model Y, Model S, and Model X. These price reductions follow similar cuts implemented in the US on Friday and Saturday.

Tesla's global vehicle deliveries in the first quarter fell for the first time in nearly four years, despite previous price cuts. The company has been slow to update its aging models, while rivals in China, the world's largest auto market, are introducing more affordable options.

In addition to the price cuts, Tesla CEO Elon Musk postponed a planned trip to India, where he was scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Musk cited obligations at Tesla as the reason for the postponement.
