Public Opinion on Bulgarian Caretaker Government and Upcoming Elections

A recent survey by "Trend" agency, commissioned by "24 Chasa" daily, reveals public opinion on the caretaker cabinet of Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev and the upcoming elections for national parliament and MEPs.

The caretaker cabinet faces low approval ratings, with only 20% of respondents viewing it favorably. In contrast, 39% disapprove of the cabinet's performance. Public sentiment towards the constitutional amendments regarding the caretaker government is also negative, with only 11% viewing them positively.

Looking ahead to the June 9 elections, GERB-SDS emerges as the leading political force with 24.9% support. We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria follows closely behind with 15.5%. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms and Vazrazhdane are neck-and-neck with 14.4% and 14.2% support, respectively. The Bulgarian Socialist Party garners 9.1% support, while There is Such a People trails behind with 4.8%. Notably, 6.9% of respondents indicate they would choose the "None of the Above" option.

Voter turnout is expected to be moderate, with 49% of respondents (more than 2.6 million voters) expressing willingness to participate in the elections.
