Tesla Begins Sending Cybertruck Delivery Invites to Long-Term Shareholders

Tesla has begun sending out Cybertruck delivery invites to long-term shareholders who opted for early delivery, according to company executive Martin Viecha. This first batch of invites marks the initial step in fulfilling the exclusive offer Tesla extended to its loyal investors.

The offer, announced in March, allowed long-term shareholders who met specific criteria to receive early delivery of the highly anticipated Cybertruck. To qualify, shareholders needed to have reserved a Cybertruck in their name before March 1, 2023, and owned at least 500 Tesla shares on both February 28 and 29, 2021. Additionally, they must still own at least half of those shares as of the most recent brokerage statement.

Viecha attributed the delay in sending out the first batch of invites to the extensive verification process required for the numerous shareholder statements. This suggests that a significant number of shareholders opted into the offer, demonstrating strong interest in the Cybertruck among Tesla's long-term investors.

Tesla aims to deliver 250,000 units of the Cybertruck annually starting in 2025. With over a million reservations already placed, according to CEO Elon Musk, demand for the futuristic electric pickup truck remains high. However, those who did not participate in the early delivery offer may face a wait until 2026 or later to receive their vehicles.
