Funeral Service for Faraz Tahir, Security Guard Killed in Bondi Junction Stabbing Attack

Faraz Tahir, a heroic security guard who made the ultimate sacrifice while attempting to protect shoppers during a stabbing attack in Bondi Junction, was honored at a funeral service in north-west Sydney. His colleague, Muhammad Taha, who also tried to intervene during the attack and was seriously injured in the process, attended the funeral and emotionally shared memories of Tahir's final moments.

Tahir, who had recently arrived in Australia after fleeing persecution in Pakistan, was described by his family members as a brave and selfless individual who always sought to help others. His family, deeply proud of him, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from the public during this difficult time. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, to which Tahir belonged, mourned their loss while finding solace in the unity and backing of Australians across the nation.

The funeral service, held at the Baitul Huda mosque in Marsden Park, served as a poignant reminder of Tahir's heroism and the impact he made in his short time in Australia. In response to the tragedy, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Australia (AMYA) initiated a national blood drive named "Faraz's Gift" as a tribute to Tahir's selfless sacrifice and a way to give back to the community. Through this initiative, inspired by Tahir's courage, the youth group aims to honor his memory and support fellow Australians in times of need.
