AAP Accuses Delhi Lieutenant Governor of Ruining City's Police Force

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) raised concerns about the declining law-and-order situation in Delhi, putting the blame on Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena for allegedly "ruining" the city's police force. Saurabh Bharadwaj, a prominent leader of AAP, spoke out against the LG during a press conference, mentioning specific incidents of crime that have occurred recently, including a murder witness being stabbed multiple times in Jaffrabad.

According to Bharadwaj, the data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) indicates that Delhi has the highest crime rate in the country, with 1,832 crimes reported for every one-lakh population, which is significantly higher than the national average. The AAP leader accused LG V K Saxena of not effectively overseeing the police force, pointing out that under his leadership, the police have been severely impacted and their functionality compromised.

Bharadwaj urged the Lieutenant Governor to focus on his designated responsibilities, such as managing the police and the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), and refrain from interfering in the affairs of the Delhi government. The AAP's allegations suggest a contentious relationship between the party and the LG, with concerns raised about the overall safety and security situation in the capital city.
