"Vazrazhdane" Party Campaigns for Bulgarian Extradited to US Prison
The "Vazrazhdane" party has launched a campaign in support of Bulgarian citizen Milan Dimitrov, who was extradited from Greece to a private prison in San Antonio, Texas. Party leader Kostadin Kostadinov made the announcement at a press conference, joined by Dimitrov's brother, Alexander Dimitrov. The latter had previously criticized the Bulgarian government's lack of assistance in the case.
Dimitrov is suspected of selling US microchips and other high-tech components to Russia through a Bulgarian company. Kostadinov stated that Dimitrov had been held in a Greek prison since late 2022 and was extradited last week. He was apprehended while traveling in Greece.
"Milan Dimitrov has been arrested and is currently being held in an American prison on charges without evidence," Kostadinov asserted at the press conference. He faces a potential 80-year sentence in the US.
The "Vazrazhdane" party is calling for the Bulgarian government to intervene and provide support to Dimitrov. They claim that he is being unfairly targeted and that the charges against him are unsubstantiated.
