According to the Union Health Ministry data, ndia has registered 2,68, 833 new Covid infections in a day, bringing the total to 3,68, 50,962, which includes 6,041 Omicron variant cases.

The number of people who have succumbed to the disease has gone up to 4,85, 752 with 402 deaths. The case fatality rate was 1.32 per cent.

The data shows that 6,041 Omicron cases have been detected so far, an increase of 5.01 per cent since Friday, an increase of 5.01 per cent since Friday.

The daily positivity rate was 16.66 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 12.84 per cent.

The highest number of active cases in around 223 days is 14,17, 820, and comprise 3.85 per cent of the total infections. The recovery rate for COVID 19 has decreased to 94.83 per cent, according to the Health Ministry.

The active caseload in the country has increased by 1,45, 747 in a day. The total number of people who have recovered from the disease has increased to 3,49, 47,390.

The cumulative Covid vaccine doses administered in the country so far have exceeded 156.02 crore, according to the nationwide vaccine drive.

India's COVID 19 tally had reached the 20 lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.

India crossed the milestone of two crore on May 4th, 2021 and three crore on June 23, 2021.
