ED freezes Bitcoins worth ₹12.83 crore in ₂�13.83 cr in Kolkata

The Enforcement Directorate ED has frozenBitcoins worth 12.83 in an investigation against one Aamir Khan and others related to the mobile gaming application, E-nuggets. A FIR was filed by the Kolkata Police in February 2021 against one Aamir Khan and others, based on a complaint filed by Federal Bank authorities.

According to the probe agency, Khan launched a mobile gaming application called E-Nuggets, designed for the purpose of defrauding the public.

After collecting the amount of money from the public, all of a sudden withdrawal from the App was stopped on one pretext or the other. All of the data including profile information was wiped off from the said App servers, the ED said.

The central probe agency found that the accused was transferring part of the amount illegally earned through the gaming app E-Nuggets to overseas by using criptocurrency exchanges. A dummy account in the name of Sima Naskar was opened on the WazirX, a coin exchange that was used to purchase cryptocurrencies and digital assets.

The cryptocurrencies were transferred to another account in another Cryptocurrency exchange namely Binance. The balance of the transferred cryptocurrencies was i.e. The value of Rs 12.83 crore has been frozen at the BinanceCryptocurrency exchange.

An amount of 17.32 crore was found and seized from his residential premises earlier in the day during a search operation conducted by Aamir Khan.
