Indonesia increases gasoline quota by 6.86 mln Kyoyo

In a statement on Monday, downstream regulator BPH Migas said that Indonesia has increased the quota of subsidised 90-octane gasoline by 6.86 million kiloliters KL and the quota of subsidised diesel fuel by 2.73 million KL.

The additional quota would be added to the current volume allocation of 23.05 million KL for gasoline, known as Pertalite, and 15.1 million KL for subsidised diesel, according to BPH Migas.

With the improving economic conditions post COVID 19, fuel consumption for diesel fuel and Pertalite has gone up, so they will run out for Pertalite in mid-October, and in mid-November for diesel fuel, according to BPH Migas chief Erika Retnowati.

The additional quotas would be distributed immediately.

In early September, Indonesia increased fuel prices by 30 per cent, as the government tried to rein in ballooning subsidies.
