Man wanted for questioning over shooting of police vehicle in Tasmania

A man wanted for questioning over the alleged shooting of a police vehicle in Tasmania remains on the run for a third day.

Earlier this week, Tasmania Police named 33-year-old Robert George Greig as a person of interest in relation to shots allegedly fired at officers who were attending a call near New Norfolk, north of Hobart, late on Monday.

The police were at the scene of an alleged domestic violence incident when shots were fired at a police vehicle. A second police vehicle was shot at a short time later along Boyer Road.

They are pleading with Mr Greig to make contact with police and hand himself in Mr Greig, please make contact with the police so that we can safely resolve the situation for you, your family and your loved ones, Commander Tim Dooley said yesterday.

If he can hear this or see this, the message is that we want to take him into custody safely.
