Gov. Colin Ek: North Dakota Gov. Margo Burgum praised JPMorgan Chase on Mornings and Maria Wednesday for opening its first branch in Fargo, saying that companies are being drawn to the state's booming economy.
DOUG BURGUM: We were pleased to welcome him Chase in the state and welcome Jamie Dimon here. We've got a very strong business banking back office in North Dakota. We are the only nation in the country that has a state-owned bank. For decades, JPMorgan Chase has had strong community banking but having a national bank is fantastic with the kind of reach and power of someone like JPMorgan Chase.

The economy is booming in North Dakota right now and there are over 30,000 jobs open. And I think companies like JPMorgan Chase are recognizing this. It is wonderful to welcome them in state.
