Russia is reportedly cutting gas supply through Ukraine because of sanctions

This may include adverts from us and 3 rd parties based on our understanding. The Russian President is rumored to have restricted the flow of gas transiting to Europe as he is hoping to avoid EU law from being implemented on the controversial Nord Stream 2 pipeline. Europe is now in a crisis as less gas being routed through existing pipelines has not only decreased European gas supplies but has also hiked the prices. This affects Russia as well as Europe, as it is an integrated market, and Britain imports a large portion of the Dutch pipeline gas from the UK.

But Express.co's CEO, Yuriy Vitrenko, has told Naftogaz.co. uk there is a way to put an end to the soaring gas prices that reached record highs over the summer. He said: There is a very easy way to escape the crisis. Mr Vitrenko suggested that sanctions could persuade Gazprom to send more gas through Ukraine. Should Gazprom understand that there is no way they could get Nord Stream 2 approved because of sanctions, for example, they could start sending gas as much gas through Ukraine as they did last year, and they could do this from tomorrow. US President Joe Biden has slapped sanctions on two Russian ships and companies involved in the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. After the completion of the program but once the pipeline was nearer to completion, Washington announced that they would no longer place any sanctions on Russia regarding Nord Stream 2. Mr Vitrenko said he was confused by this decision. He added: We have a firm belief that the US Government had to impose sanctions on this Nord Stream again, but we do believe that it s better late than never and it will send a message to Putin that the West does not accept this kind of deal. The Commission believes that sanctions are the right thing to do. All it takes is for Europe to treat gas as a commodity and then there will be gas prices tomorrow in Russia?
