A number of users of Amazon were down in the US on Wednesday, according to the outage tracker Downdetector.
Over 12,000 users were facing the issue accessing Amazon.com and the website, according to the Downdetector, which provides users with real-time information about the status of various websites and services.
According to Downdetector, Amazon Web Services was also hit shortly after. Around 200 users reported that AWS was not working. Customers trying to check out of the site received an error message: An error occurred when we tried to process your request. We are working to solve the problem as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience. Users took to Twitter to express their concerns.
In a written statement to CNN, Amazon spokeswoman Betsy Harden said the company is trying to solve the issue. Some customers may be experiencing issues while shopping. Harden said in the statement that they appreciate your patience as they work to resolve the issue.
