Huawei Fosters Digital Talent Development at MWC Barcelona 2024

At the MWC Barcelona 2024, Huawei hosted the Huawei Talent Summit, announcing several initiatives to foster talent development. These included the launch of the ITU-Huawei Generation Connect Young Leadership Programme, which provides funding and support for youth-led projects addressing the digital divide.

The summit also marked the implementation of a joint project between Huawei and UNESCO's Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) in Morocco. This project aims to enhance the digital skills of literacy educators, empowering them to effectively integrate technology into their teaching and professional development.

Huawei's commitment to promoting gender equality in technology was evident in its sponsorship of the European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI). This initiative encourages girls to pursue careers in STEM fields and fosters digital inclusion within communities.

Representatives from Greece, Kenya, and Mexico shared their experiences with Huawei's local talent training programs, highlighting their positive impact on developing local talent. Huawei Cloud's Global Startup Ecosystem also announced plans to launch its platform in Europe, providing support and resources to startups seeking to migrate to the cloud and accelerate their growth.

Huawei's Vice President of Corporate Communications, Vicky Zhang, emphasized the company's long-standing commitment to cultivating digital talent worldwide. She encouraged individuals to participate in these initiatives and become role models, shaping an inclusive digital future.

To recognize the achievements of Huawei ICT Academy teachers and students, a digital badge was introduced at the summit. This badge allows them to showcase their accomplishments on social media platforms like LinkedIn. Huawei's talent training and education projects have reached over 150 countries, benefiting more than 2.83 million individuals.
