Ambedkar, Jarange Discuss Lok Sabha Polls Amid MVA Seat-Sharing Impasse

Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) leader Prakash Ambedkar met with Maratha quota agitation leader Manoj Jarange to discuss the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra's Jalna district. The meeting, which lasted over an hour, took place at Jarange's residence in Antarwali Sarati village.

Ambedkar, who is the grandson of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, had been considering a poll pact with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. However, despite efforts, Ambedkar and the MVA allies (Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena) failed to reach a consensus on seat-sharing.

Ambedkar expressed dissatisfaction with the Shiv Sena and NCP for their "unequal attitude" towards his party. He offered support to the Congress on seven Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra. Jarange, meanwhile, urged members of the Maratha community to seek opinions on fielding one independent candidate in every Lok Sabha constituency in the state.
