Congress Leadership to Discuss Lok Sabha Candidates During Central Election Committee Meeting

The leadership of the Congress party, headed by President Mallikarjun Kharge along with former chief Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, is planning to convene a significant Central Election Committee meeting on March 31. This meeting is aimed at discussing and deciding on the remaining candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections which are scheduled to commence on April 19. Reports suggest that senior leaders and members of the Central Election Committee will be present during this crucial meeting.

The upcoming Central Election Committee meeting is expected to focus on finalizing candidates from various states, particularly Delhi and Maharashtra. So far, the Congress has already unveiled the names of 208 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections which will take place in seven phases starting from April 19. The process will culminate with the counting of votes on June 4. The participation of key figures like Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and other senior leaders underscores the importance of strategic decision-making concerning candidate selection in crucial constituencies.
