BJP Leader Dilip Ghosh Reacts to TMC's Promises in Manifesto in West Bengal

In a recent statement, BJP leader Dilip Ghosh expressed skepticism towards the promises made by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in their manifesto, particularly their pledge to repeal the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Ghosh pointed out that the TMC's ability to fulfill such promises would depend on their candidates reaching Parliament, citing past controversial actions that they allegedly failed to deliver on, such as repealing GST, restoring Article 370, constructing the Babri Masjid, and reversing demonetization.

Regarding the recent blast during a rally in Murshidabad district, Ghosh criticized the TMC government, suggesting that bomb manufacturing is a common practice in West Bengal. He highlighted the prevalence of violence in the state, referring to bomb-making as a cottage industry and indicating that those responsible for the recent incidents are realizing that such tactics may not yield the desired results. Ghosh's comments underscore the ongoing political tensions and security concerns in the region as the Lok Sabha elections approach.

The TMC, contesting solo in West Bengal after failing to secure a seat-sharing agreement with its partners in the state, unveiled its manifesto with promises like providing 10 free gas cylinders annually to Below Poverty Line families and free 5 kg ration to every ration card holder. The party's manifesto includes commitments to providing 100 days of employment and houses for poor families, guaranteeing minimum support prices to farmers, and ensuring a legal guarantee of minimum wages for laborers across the country. With the first phase of polling set to begin, the political landscape in West Bengal is characterized by a competitive environment between the TMC and the BJP, setting the stage for a closely watched electoral contest in the state.
