Bulgarian Socialist Party Accuses GERB of Corruption in Gas Contract with Botas

## Bulgarian Socialist Party to Investigate Gas Contract with Botas

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) will send the parliamentary report on the gas contract with the Turkish state-owned energy company Botas to the Anti-Corruption Commission, the Bulgarian and the European prosecutor's office. Party leader Kornelia Ninova accused GERB of attempting to cover up corruption in the contract by preventing the report, which contains serious findings of damage to the Bulgarian state, from being discussed in parliament.

The contract, signed by the caretaker cabinet of Galab Donev, allows Botas access to Bulgarian pipelines through the state-owned company Bulgargaz.

Earlier today, the Vazrazhdane party submitted a signal to the prosecutor's office, the State Agency for National Security, and other state institutions regarding the "scandalous deal between Bulgargaz and Botas." MP Yordan Todorov also announced that the party would provide them with the report of the ad hoc parliamentary committee investigating the deal.

"We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB) submitted a motion to convene an extraordinary session of the National Assembly to consider the report of the temporary commission on the contract between Bulgargaz and Botas. PP-DB deputy Radoslav Rybarski stated that the report contains "extremely scandalous facts and revelations that should not remain hidden from the public." His colleague Martin Dimitrov expressed concern that the Botas document could disappear, similar to the roadmap for the construction of Turkish Stream.
