Rep. Greene Demands Speaker Johnson's Resignation Over Ukraine Aid Package

## Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls for Speaker Mike Johnson's Resignation

Following the House's approval of a new aid package for Ukraine, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has called for the resignation of House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.). Greene accuses Johnson of betraying Republican voters and threatens to initiate a vote for his removal if he doesn't step down.

This demand comes after the House approved a $95 billion foreign aid package, including $61 billion for Ukraine and regional partners. Johnson, who initially resisted putting the bill on the floor, joined Democrats to advance it. The bill now heads to the Senate for final approval.

Greene, along with at least two other Republicans, supports ousting Johnson. However, Johnson remains confident, believing he can count on cross-party support to quash any motion to vacate the speaker's chair.

This isn't the first time Greene has criticized Johnson's leadership. Earlier this month, she called him a "damn fool" over his stance on Ukraine funding on Steve Bannon's podcast. Greene expressed the anger of her constituents towards Johnson.

Greene initially planned to consult with fellow House Republicans before deciding on a vote to remove Johnson. However, the current situation remains unclear.
