Bulgarian Voters Abroad to Cast Ballots in 60 Countries for Upcoming Elections

## Polling Stations for Bulgarian Elections Abroad

The Central Election Commission of Bulgaria has announced plans to open polling stations in 60 countries for the upcoming parliamentary and European Parliament elections on June 9th. These stations will be located in Bulgarian diplomatic and consular missions, as well as in other locations where at least 100 voters participated in previous elections.

However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recommended against opening polling stations in several locations due to security concerns. These include the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, Odessa, Ramallah in Palestine, and embassies in Tehran (Iran), Sana'a (Yemen), Baghdad (Iraq), Pyongyang (North Korea), Damascus (Syria), Tripoli (Libya), and Kabul (Afghanistan).

Additionally, some proposed polling stations are still awaiting confirmation from the host countries.

The largest number of polling stations abroad are expected to be located in Turkey, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and the United States. In neighboring Greece, polling stations are planned for resort areas such as Kavala, Komotini, Nea Moudania, Nea Peramos, Nikiti, and islands like Corfu, Crete, Lefkada, Rhodes, Mykonos, and Thassos.

The final decision on the location of polling stations abroad will be made by the Central Election Commission no later than 21 days before the election.
