China seeks greater dominance in Taiwan, Lithuania, Horn of Africa

Beijing, January 24 ANI After the Winter Olympics' Grand Spectacle comes to a close in Beijing, multiple threats of conflict may arise in late February as China looks out for greater dominance in Taiwan, Soloman Islands, Lithuania, Greenland, Horn of Africa, according to Policy Research Group POREG The Chinese are keen to see the U.S. response to Ukraine as much as Russia is, although Donald Trump is treading very carefully whether it is Ukraine or the South China SeaChina Sea.

Ukraine is not in the area of American influence because it is located far from American coastlines. The US needs to stretch its resources to maintain its interest in the South China SeaChina Sea. China is not waiting for a move by the US as it has already increased its influence on Taiwan, according to Policy Research Group.

China is fortifying its side of the border with good roads and bridges and giving Chinese names to the towns in Arunachal Pradesh, particularly in the Ladakh region of India. President Xi Jinping may not be ready for a showdown with India because China is still healing from last year's diplomatic and military snub. However, he will not be reluctant to take military risks elsewhere for short-term gain.

What if Beijing closes the Taiwan Strait to sea traffic and declares the East and South China SeasChina Seas no-fly zones, claiming that both are'sovereign Chinese territory', said the POREG.

To make it a success, President Xi Jinping will have to first assemble a multi-platform assault force on the Chinese coast close to Taiwan, it observed.

Peter Jennings, executive director of Australian Strategic Policy Institute, said that China on Taiwan will be nothing more than a replay of Putin's tactics over Ukraine, and that ASPI is a defence and strategic policy think tank based in Canberra.

China is aiding the Solomon Islands and trying to grow dominance.

South Asia was aware of this after Sri Lanka tried to sabotage China after the tryst with China, and it has a security impact on the dismay of neighbours. Lithuania's deepening ties with Taiwan have further gotten an aggressive posture from China, which has threatened an economic blockade of Lithuanian entities from the Chinese market.

China is hawking trade influence in greenland, an area of conflict that is a new sphere of conflict. If Greenland moves towards independence, it may attract Chinese investment to tide over its troubles.
