Italy registers 130, 000 deaths due to COVID 19 outbreak

Italy has registered 130,807 deaths linked to COVID 19 since its outbreak in February last year, the ninth-highest toll in Europe after Britain and the second highest in the world. In the countries, 4.67 million cases have been reported till date.

Patients in hospital with COVID - 19 - not including those in intensive care - stood at 3,418 on Tuesday, down from 3,487 a day earlier.

There were 19 new admissions into intensive care units, down from 29 the week before. The total number of intensive care patients was decreased from 459 to 488 in the previous period.

Some 338,425 tests for COVID 19 were carried out in the past day comparing with a previous of 124,077, said the Health Ministry.
