Reuters- British fashion chain Ted Baker said Chairman John Barton had died and senior independent director Helena Feltham would take over the role of interim chairman with immediate effect.
The London-listed retailer didn't say anything about Barton's death, but said it was sudden.
Barton, 77, joined Ted Baker at www.reuters. In July of last year, the article us-ted baker-chairman idUSKCN 2240 W 7 from airline easyJet was published as the fashion group's management tried to revive its fortunes after suffering a string of setbacks in 2019.
He previously served as chairman of rival fashion retailer Next Plc and was senior independent director at WH Smith and SSP Group.

Ted Baker is working to restore its image after former boss Ray Kelvin left in 2019 due to misconduct allegations. Kelvin, who started the company in 1988 in Glasgow in Scotland, denied the allegations.
