Millions Face Starvation

Six months of war have ravaged Gaza, pushing over 1 million Palestinians to the brink of starvation. The Israeli military restricts their return to devastated northern Gaza, citing ongoing operations.

Despite reduced troop presence, airstrikes and targeted operations continue, including on the heavily damaged Shifa Hospital. Five people were killed while trying to return home, highlighting the desperate situation.

The war has displaced most of Gaza's 2.3 million people, leaving them with limited food, shelter, and access to essential services. Famine looms in the north, where aid struggles to reach due to fighting and distribution difficulties.

The conflict began with a Hamas attack on southern Israel, killing 1,200 Israelis and taking 250 hostage. A deal released 100 hostages, leaving 130 in captivity.

Over 33,700 Palestinians have been killed and 76,200 injured, with women and children making up two-thirds of the dead. Israel claims to have killed 12,000 militants, but has not provided evidence.

The international community must urge all parties to prioritize civilian protection and facilitate aid delivery. A ceasefire and commitment to peace are crucial to alleviate suffering and prevent further loss of life.
