Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Meets Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar Jail

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently visited Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar jail along with AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak. Mann raised concerns about Kejriwal's treatment in jail, claiming that he was being treated like a hardcore criminal despite not committing any serious offense. The meeting between Mann and Kejriwal took place in a room divided by a glass wall, where they communicated over a phone call due to the separation.

Expressing his emotional response to the visit, Mann questioned the justification behind Kejriwal's treatment and highlighted the Delhi CM's dedication to public welfare, citing Kejriwal's concerns about Delhi residents receiving subsidies. Pathak, who was also present during the meeting, mentioned Kejriwal's plans to engage with ministers and party MLAs to address various issues affecting Delhi. Kejriwal was reportedly worried about the well-being of the people of Delhi and remained focused on addressing their needs even while in custody.

Kejriwal's current judicial custody was set to expire soon after the meeting, with the Enforcement Directorate accusing him of involvement in the Delhi liquor scam. The security around Tihar jail was heightened during the visit, considering Mann's Z+ protection status. Despite the challenges Kejriwal is facing, the AAP leaders reiterated their commitment to representing the people and strengthening the party's political influence, particularly as the Lok Sabha election results approached.
