LG Electronics Cools Down India with 1 Million AC Sales and Focus on Innovation

## LG Aims to Beat the Heat with Increased AC Production and New Features

As India braces for scorching temperatures, LG Electronics is gearing up to meet the rising demand for air conditioners. The South Korean giant has already registered 1 million AC sales (order-based) in the first 100 days of 2024 and expects to close the year with over 2 million units sold.

LG is confident in its ability to meet this demand, thanks to its robust manufacturing capabilities in India. The company sources all its components locally, including compressors, which are produced in its own factory. This allows LG to scale production quickly and efficiently.

"LG air conditioners are completely Indian," says Sanjay Chitkara, Senior VP and Business Head for RAC & Sales Head, LG Electronics India. "We are aligned with the Prime Minister's vision of Make in India."

LG is also focusing on innovation to meet the evolving needs of Indian consumers. The company has launched 77 new AC models in 2024, featuring energy-efficient technologies and stylish designs. These models include the Energy Manager feature, which allows users to define their energy usage preferences and optimize compressor usage, and the Diet Mode, which reduces power consumption by 81% while maintaining optimal cooling efficiency.

For those seeking a touch of elegance, LG has introduced the new ArtCool series with a Black Mirror Finish. This premium lineup is priced between Rs 35,000 to Rs 60,000.

With its strong manufacturing base, innovative features, and commitment to the Indian market, LG is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for air conditioners. The company aims to increase its market share to 25% in 2024, up from 19.8% in 2023.

In addition to meeting domestic demand, LG is also exporting made-in-India ACs to neighboring countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and the Maldives. This demonstrates the company's commitment to contributing to India's economic growth and its position as a leading manufacturer of air conditioners in the region.
