Bulgaria's Caretaker Foreign Minister Faces Potential Replacement Amidst Political Tensions

Dimitar Glavchev, the caretaker Prime Minister of Bulgaria, has proposed Daniel Mitov to replace Stefan Dimitrov as the caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs. This proposal requires approval from President Rumen Radev.

Glavchev's motivation for the proposed change is the need for "timely and responsible coordination and communication between members of the caretaker government, as well as with allies and partners."

This development comes amidst concerns raised by GERB leader Boyko Borisov regarding Dimitrov's stance on NATO and support for Ukraine. Borisov stated that GERB bears no responsibility for the foreign minister and threatened to withdraw support if Glavchev does not replace him.

It remains to be seen whether Radev will approve the proposed change and how this will impact Bulgaria's foreign policy stance.
