Biden asks ex-Trump official to resign from military advisory boards

Biden administration issued a statement asking a number of ex-Trump officials, including himself, to resign their positions on military advisory boards.

Stuart Varney told Varney Co. host Keane that he is disappointed with the political decision and will not resign.

I m not resigned and I think that, as of last night, I like people who did not resign are terminated I mean, it s pretty frustrating what s happening here, Keane explained.

After being appointed by President Obama in 2019, Gen. Keane joined the senior president Barack Obama appointees, a move that he said strengthened the board I thought the board was excellent, Keane said. Having appointees from two administrations working together for the interests of that one institution. I think, you know Biden, is gonna use military terms to that he kind of taking a hand grenade and blew it up, unfortunately.

Similarly, Keane is not the only biden team member blaming our team for their partisan move. Trump-appointed former senior adviser for Eric Holder and former White House press secretary Sean Spicer are among the members who have condemned Kellyanne Conway.

Instead of focusing on the stranded Americans left in Afghanistan, President Spicer is trying to terminate Trump appointees at the Naval Academy, West Point and Air Force Academy. Biden fired back at the president on Wednesday.

However, Biden s attempts to remove board members may hit a roadblock as the members are to serve three years by law.

You serve for three years by law and this decision by President Keane is being challenged because of that, because some people see it as a violation of the Law, Biden pointed out.

Geoff Keane took the opportunity to serve as an honor to be able to assist and support a beloved institution in America. I love being there and working and seeing the cadets and what they are doing and working with the leadership at West Point. It is disappointment. He said this is what Varney tells you.
