This neoclassical villa built by John Nash is a private residence wrapped in gardens

This neoclassical villa on Regent s Park, built by noted London architect John Nash and made his personal offices in the mid- 1800s, is now a lavish private residence wrapped in large gardens.

Nash built a house in 1820 as part of his master plan for the park, where he designed lavish terrace blocks. In later years, it was the home of the late Victorian Scottish artist and illustrator Robert Walker Macbeth.

The three-story house has a refined stucco front and is surrounded by mature greenery. It is located in Park Village West, a leafy, horseshoe-shaped development that is one of Nash's last-ever projects. It has a raised ground floor that provides elevated garden views from its four reception rooms. The garden room, which has a period look and large glass walls, is the best view.

According to its sales brochure, the ivory-shued property has a distinctive country and quintessentially English feel on the east side of Regent's Park. Selling agent Stephen Lindsay said it was a straight out of Mary Poppins, with its cream Georgian villas and leafy surroundings.

Two of the reception rooms directly connect to the gardens via French doors opening onto a terrace and stone garden steps. Its upper floor has symmetrical sash windows and views out to the tree canopy. Its design is considered to be of historic significance, as denoted by its official Grade II listing, and it has a separate entrance on its lower ground floor.

The six-bedroom Georgian home has been owned by the same family for the past 46 years, and they have kept it in good shape and has retained its original Georgian proportions, Mr. Lindsay said.

The 4,250 square-foot house has six bedrooms, one with a balcony, three bathrooms, two shower rooms, a kitchen, drawing room, garden room, reception room, and a second kitchen with a larder and cellar. It has about 0.33 acres of gardens. It has 104 years remaining on a lease.

The grounds have off-street parking for several cars and a raised terrace overlooking the gardens.

Park Village West and Park Village East are a pair of two park villages designed by Nash in the 1820 s. Park Village West is a leafy, quiet enclave on the eastern edge of Regent s Park, with villas arranged in a horseshoe line. It is located half a mile from the ZSL London Zoo and Camden Town Tube station.
