## Arunachal Pradesh Gears Up for Simultaneous Elections with High Voter Turnout Expectation

The state of Arunachal Pradesh is gearing up for simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, with authorities aiming to achieve a voter turnout exceeding 80%. Chief Election Commissioner Pawan Kumar Sain expressed confidence in the voters' awareness and participation.

"We hope to cross 80 per cent voter turnout in this election as the voters here are aware," Sain stated. He further elaborated on the extensive security measures implemented, including the deployment of 185 companies of security forces and stringent actions against individuals with a history of electoral offenses.

To ensure a fair and transparent election process, the state has imposed a ban on the export and import of liquor. Additionally, authorities have seized over Rs 16 crores worth of cash and liquor to prevent any potential misuse.

"No interference in the poll process by underground elements will be tolerated and stringent action will be initiated against such activities," Sain asserted, emphasizing the commitment to maintaining a peaceful and orderly election.

Arunachal Pradesh has a total of 2,226 polling stations, with 480 booths categorized as falling under shadow areas. Additionally, 588 booths have been identified as critical and 443 as vulnerable, requiring heightened security measures.

The state comprises two parliamentary constituencies, Arunachal East and Arunachal West. The Assembly polls will be held concurrently with the Lok Sabha elections for these two seats on April 19th. The counting of votes will take place on June 4th.
